What do the Indigo Girls, Keri Hilson, Kristian Bush of Sugarland, and The Shadowboxers, have in common? Each began their amazing global musical careers right here at Emory. Even better, each were invited back to headline an Emory Homecoming concert. So what about you? Could this be your start?
We are looking for the next great student performers to take the stage at the 2026 Emory Homecoming Food and Music Festival on October 24.
THE SETUP
One of the five festival performance stages will be feature multiple Emory student artists (solo or duos). This stage will be set with an available keyboard, microphones, monitors, plus hookups for acoustic instruments or playback of a backing track. The selected student artists will perform their best song (or two if time permits) for the audience of Emory alumni, parents, students, and staff around 2:00 p.m. during the Saturday festival.
In addition to lifelong bragging rights, selected performers will receive a special Emory swag pack and other special festival benefits to be announced at a later date.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE
We are holding open video auditions through this website until October 10. Interested solo or duo acoustic acts should complete the form below and submit a video recording of the song they would perform.
We are not able to accommodate groups larger than a duo, electric guitars, drum sets, or any complex setup that can't be quickly carried onto/off the stage. Backing tracks with additional instrumentation is allowed if provided a minimum of 48-hours in advance. Performers will be scheduled back-to-back with only a couple of minutes between acts in order to keep the audience engaged. There is not time for rehearsals beyond a quick microphone check.
APPLICATION
Auditions will be reviewed by the Homecoming team for overall musicality and artistic expression as well as comfort level performing. All genres are welcome and songs can be original or cover songs. No explicit lyrics, all songs must be family friendly.
